History
Data Warehouse Consultants was founded in 2004 by John Shantz, a former manager at Deloitte. He worked for Deloitte Consulting in their information technology and business intelligence practices for seven years and was one of the founding members of the public sector data warehouse practice. His specialties at Deloitte were the design and development of data warehouse systems and associated Internet applications. He helped Deloitte to grow their data warehousing practice from 2 individuals in 1997 to a $40 million practice in 2003 with 50+ consultants on dozens of projects.
Leadership
Mr. Shantz’s credentials include design, development and management duties on dozens of different business intelligence initiatives in various industries across the country. He is also an accomplished program designer and programmer in many different languages and environments. John’s experience in data warehousing over nearly two decades have helped him become an authority on successful data warehouse and big data implementations.
Along with being the lead consultant on some current engagements, Mr. Shantz is also an adjunct professor at the Carnegie Mellon University Heinz School in Pittsburgh teaching graduate-level courses in Data Warehousing and Decision Support Systems.
